Toby Keith's Restaurant in Virginia is "No Guns"

Post by Quick Cal » January 2nd, 2014, 7:57 pm

Toby Keith's Restaurant in Virginia has a "No Guns Allowed" Policy.

Toby, what are you doing? Of course, you have a right to run your establishment how ever you see fit. I have the right to avoid going there. Too Bad... I've enjoyed a couple of your concerts, in the past. We have many members in VA, let them know how you feel.

The policy is probably not directly from Toby himself, but from a corporate management decision. But come on Toby, fix this! Maybe we should send him an invite to CFDA (or send Trace Adkins to kick his butt!)

Now come on boy's, lets not get all chuffed up about this to fast. Ive been in Law Enforcement all my adult life in one form or another, and one thing that has always held true, is this. If you don't Hollywood the fact your carrying i.e. ("flashing the weapon to be cool") No one will know you have it, and you will still have it when or if you need it. Concealed carry means just that "concealed". You don't need to start a mass revolt because some jackass Lawyer recommended this policy due to everyone being sue happy and trying to protect his client from some unforeseen litigation.

Litigation and "open vs. concealment" aside, would you attack a restaurant where everyone was known to carry firearms, or attack a restaurant where no one would have one?

Howdy Y'all,
Okay, Virginia has an open carry law. whether you display openly or conceal is your option. Me, I would not flaunt it. Whatever. My question would be to Toby's legal staff . If the state said I could carry and you forbid it in your establishment and some deranged nut case comes in and starts laying customers low, can I sue you for refusing me the legal right to defend my self or others from bodily harm? This the main reason I carry. Is Toby saying, 'You do not need to carry a firearm in my restaurant because I will protect you'? This would make a great case for the Supreme Courts.
Just figuring,
