Here is an interesting chart on Death Stats in the U.S.. It should be noted that it is customary to include all gun homicides. This includes, suicide, gang related killings and police having to kill criminals.
Interesting isn't it?

Does anyone have a link to the source of that? I am having trouble finding those stats, I haven't been to the CDC's site yet and this report I found stopped in 2001: http://www.bjs.gov/content/pub/pdf/wuvc01.pdf.

Saw the Yahoo! link in the above graphic, so went there and got this:Jeremiah wrote:Does anyone have a link to the source of that? I am having trouble finding those stats, I haven't been to the CDC's site yet and this report I found stopped in 2001: http://www.bjs.gov/content/pub/pdf/wuvc01.pdf.

Thanks.
One of the pages from that search links to the FBI's site: http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/ucr/cr ... ta-table-8
Interesting information there. Firearms do appear to top the homicide list. Maybe the CDC has other data.
http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/ucr/cr ... 0tbl19.xls
The above link would appear to indicate that on Aggravated Assault Other Weapons (221,620) were used more than Firearms (137,857) for 2010. For that matter Hand, fists, feet, etc (183,457) were also used more.
The trend that I feel gets under reported is the reduction in crime. That first chart shows Murders dropping.
