We're trying something different during our WI State Shoot Banquet on July 18th!

“Black River Bandits Beard & Mustache Competition”

Held During Saturday Night’s CFDA State Shoot Banquet, Superior, Wisconsin
July 18, 2015

Open to all Wisconsin State Shoot Attendees
Must Be Present To Win!

All Facial Hair Welcome to Compete: Beard, Mustache, Sideburns, and Combinations of These

TWO Categories: Whiskers (MEN) – Real Hair or Constructed Hair (for those who must be
clean-shaven for work)
Whiskerinas (WOMEN)** – Constructed Hair

~The constructed facial hair MUST hold together for the contest duration~

Official Judges will determine the winners in each of the 2 categories:
1st place (Gold Award), 2nd place (Silver Award), 3rd place (Bronze Award)

Judging Criteria:
Effort – The entry shows a commitment to facial hair; the judges consider not only cleanliness, but also length, & thickness – SIZE DOES MATTER! Does the entry’s facial hair demand respect?

Creativity – The entry’s facial hair has artistic style, shape, & uniqueness, meaning the facial hair imaginatively supports the entry’s face and cowboy-ness/cowgirl-ness. Does it look inventive and aesthetically pleasing? The entry MAY use hairspray, hair cream, styling foam, hair gel, braiding, hair pins, hair ribbons, rubber bands, beads, etc.

Presentation – This is the entry’s “Moment in the Sun” – where he or she can “Strut Your Stuff”! “Walk the Walk, Talk the Talk” – cowboy style! The entry’s facial hair should compliment his/her CFD outfit and bring out a response from the audience! Props allowed, like a cane or a parasol. Entry may tell a cowboy story or poem or sing a cowboy song that compliments his or her facial hair and persona!

Audience Response – Each member of the audience can cheer for his/her favorite entry, trying to sway the judges.

**The cowgirls don’t want to be left out of the hair-raising fun! Whiskerinas create their own beard and/or mustache from any materials! Can be made from pine cones, real or fake flowers, yarn, bottle caps, felt, paper, fabric, fake wig “hair,” or whatever else will hold together for the duration of the contest. The entry’s facial hair should be a work of art and something to be admired! ONLY females can compete in the Whiskerina Category.
