JESSE JAMES TERRITORIAL

Postby ANGEL LADY » July 3rd, 2012, 7:30 am

Just got off the phone with our people in Kansas City and they informed me they have finally set up the banquet to bge held this year at the Knights of Columbus Hall with BB Brisket and pulled pork on the menu. The Knights hall will not allow us to bring in our own bottles.....the committee is working on furnishing beer and wine coolers for all shooters and spouses at the banquet. Will keep everyone informed. Awards have been finished and we have lined up some nice door prizes to be awarded at the banquet. Everyone will receive a prize ticket upon registration and you do not need to be present at the banquet to receive a prize. Hopefully everyone will try to book their rooms at the QUALITY INN in Kearney....they are our host hotel and we worked hard to get special rates for our shooters. The management is wonderful to ork with and the hotel is one of the nicest in the Kearney area. Category matches will be run on Friday and the Festival Committere is working on providing us with boxed lunches since most of the food vendors will not be operating on Friday. We will have lots of tablers and chairs, and will provide tents over the shooters on the line and for shade to house their guns and equipment. Hopefully we will not have rain this year as we did last year....but if we do, we will have tents to cover the shooters. Will keep everyone posted as we get things rolling into September. Remember early registration before August 1st saves you $20.00 per entry.

UPDATE: The Knights Hall had to cancel out, but the committee has lined up another location for the banquet. We will have beer and wine coolers, and since it is not at the Knights Hall....I am supposing you can bring in your own bottles....will let you know for sure about this at the shoot. We will be serving BB brisket and Pulled Pork with all the trimmings. Registrations are extremely slow and it sure is getting hard to try to figure how many people to plan for food. Have been informed we will have a holster rig worth $500.00 from Bob Arganbright, and there will be a gun on the prize table donated by Joe Cassity. These will be the first two prizes drawn at the banquet. August 1 is fast approaching and you can save $20.00 per person for early registratiobn. Hope you have put our shoot on your calendar this year. The Powderhorn Ranch Regulators will be operating Range #2 for us. We couldn't do it without their help. As posted earlier we will have some sort of boxed lunches on Friday @ the range. Joe Cassity is lining this up for us and if he can get a sponsor to pay for the food, it will not cost us anything.....if he can't the box lunches will be available for a minimal charge. We will be furnishing cold bottled water throughout the contest. Category awards will be handed out at the range following the contest on Friday instead of at the banquet. This will allow us to socialize more and hand out door prizes and enjoy any entertainment they have linedf up for us.

Angel Lady,

I will mail in my form by Friday. I hope you have a great turnout and have some great shooters. Kentucky Lawman and I have a appointment with destiny again. I heard he will there. He and I mixed it up in Va, he was the most supportive and always had nice things to say. I look forward to the shoot.

Had in inquiry concerning CATEGORY MATCH......if you have signed up for a category and still want to be in the SDHOOTIST category.....you can sign up for both. Otherwise you will be limited to your own specific age categories and will only be allowed to sign up for one.

Hello All,

Was calling for hotel reservations and discovered that the B and B is no longer a hotel and Econo Lodge phone is disconnected. The Quality Inn is the best bet both for price and they are still in business. They were very polite even after talking to me for about 10 minutes. I truly look forward to competing in this Territorial Shoot.

Got a call from the Host Hotel over the weekend. She is filling up quick....all the handicapped and bottom floor rooms have been reserved. She even moved Deacon and I into another room upstairs to accommodate some people who can't climb the stairs. These are very accommodating people and she just wanted to let us know if you want to stay at the host hotel, you need to get your reservations made right away. Yes....the Econo Lodge in Kearney, closed up.....bad management from what we understand. There is also a Comfort Inn and Super 8 in Kearney. We have about 22 people pre-registered....not a lot, but they have been coming in within the last two or three days. Still got until Wednesday to get the pre-registration shooter fees.

This year's rig will be an exact copy of Jesse James' actual rig, for a 7.5 inch Colt. I am making it from a Will Gormley pattern. He researced and produced the rig used by Brad Pitt in the last JJ movie. It will have a matching correct money/cartridge belt made for the winner's hip size.
