"YES"!!!! IT'S TIME AGAIN!!! Time for these beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains to be filled once again with Gunfighters from across the country showing up to battle it out for Virginia's State Championships!! This year we are working hard to make it even "bigger and better"! All Virginia Gunfighters are excited to play host to our friends and visiting Gunfighters from other states making their way back to "Ol Virginny" to visit, compete, and experience our Southern Hospitality!! This year we are making a big effort at showing our pride as Virginians with a rich southern heritage. There will be efforts at presenting some insight into Virginia's culture, history, and hospitality to all participants. Several surprises are planned for ya!! Including but not limited to a free tour of Jubal Anderson Early's Homeplace which is just a mile or so away from our range at the Roanoke Rifle and Revolver Club. "Ol Jube" was a celebrated General of the Confederacy during that late great unpleasantness called the Civil War.
Making a trip to Virginia is a visit to a history rich part of our great country. Plenty of battlefields within a few hours drive of some of the prettiest country you'll ever see! 70% of the Civil War was fought right here in Virginia. Also within a few hours drive is Washington D.C., Richmond (Capital of the Confederacy), Williamsburg, Jamestown, and much, much more.
Roanoke is a stop also on the well known Blue Ridge Parkway that runs from Northern Virginia down to near Cherokee NC. Downtown Roanoke has a great and vibrant "Market" area with all kinds of shops and museums as well as our very interesting Transportation Museum that shows off our areas rich railroad heritage.
So... not only will there be some fine shootin' and plenty of "back slappin" fun, but also plenty of stuff to do or places to see if you want to take some extra time. If so, let us know ahead of time and we will do our dangest to help you in your visit with as much info as we can provide for ya!!
Info and details of the match are on our website (http://www.virginiafastdraw.com) as well as links to it from the CFDA's website.
Hope to see ya there!!!!!
