Re: Starting a new club
I live just east of Greensboro, NC. I discovered two fellas that are members of CFDA and we are interested in starting a CFDA club. I would like to hear of the various ways the membership has started a club. We have a forum here called the NC Cowboys. I have posted my interest in CFDA with little i...

Re: Go Vote to Protect Your Gun Rights on November 4th!
THANK YOU AMERICA! THERE IS HOPE..... STAY TUNED. By the Way, Roy Edgington a.k.a. Fernley, CFDA #L108 was elected Mayor of Fernley, Nevada last night. I've known Roy for about 20 years, when he started shooting IPSC. He served as the Secretary of our local SASS club for about 9 years. He shoots wi...

Re: Go Vote to Protect Your Gun Rights on November 4th!
Howdy Counselor, You know, aside from the 2nd Amendment, this midterm election is important for another reason...the direction this country will be taking. Our "friends" have had their shot, and they have, indeed, made one "mell of a hess" (Thanks for that, Melungeon  ). Will there be consecuti...

Re: CFDA Rugers, to fire or not fire?
Both Polly Ester and I have our Life # CFDA Rugers. We were chatting and debating whether or not to use them. I generally shoot everything I own with the exceptions 1. a Commemorative John Wayne Ruger. 2. two "last cowboy" Rugers and 3. the two CFDA Rugers. We have never even cocked any of these fi...

2014 Golden Spike Award
Congratulations to the Powhatan Peacemakers of Virginia for winning the 2014 Golden Spike Award. Great bunch of cowboys and cowgirls. Have seen first-hand their dedication to CFDA.

Re: Model 1875 Remington Revolver
Well I found a holster that would accept the gun but could get the thing to go to full cock. So I traded it out for the '90 which is essentially the same gun without the added metal under the barrel. In my first attempt it booted! That hasn't happened in a while. Afterwards I couldn't get i...

Last Will, I wasn't expecting you to go out of your way (but thank you, nonetheless)...and I sure do appreciate having read about your personal experiences with the '75 Remington.

Model 1875 Remington Revolver
Howdy, I'm kind of researching Old West revolvers, and was wondering if anyone has ever seen a CFDA member successfully using the 1875 Remington in a sanctioned match? If so, what were your impressions of it as compared to the traditional 1873 Colt Peacemaker (originals or reproductions/clones)? Muc...

Re: Tips for better Accuracy?
It is very hard to be consistent in draw, stance and reaction all the time. Probably why the sport is difficult for one person to dominate multiple years in a row. All in all, there were only a few, really good gunslingers in the Old West (fewer really great ones), and even they didn't tend to live...
